Signs and symptoms
- Presents as sudden acute unilateral vertigo
- Sudden onset of rotator vertigo, spontaneous horizontal nystagmus, nausea, and vomiting
- Postural instability
- Eyes closed will feel a spinning sensation, or turning toward the involved side
- Eyes open will feel that the surrounding is spinning
- Tonic ocular tilt reaction of head tilt, conjugate eye torsion, skew deviation, lateropulsion, weight shift toward the side of lesion.
- Tend to lean or fall on uninvolved side
